‘French Kiss’ by Marc Ferrero

L'Alliance Française de Dubaï s'associe à La Galerie Nationale pour la première exposition de Marc Ferrero au Moyen-Orient : «French Kiss», une série de tableaux rendant hommage à la femme du XXIe siècle. Artiste international, Marc Ferrero est exposé partout dans le monde mais il est également célèbre pour sa collaboration avec l'horloger de luxe Hublot.

Alliance Française Dubai partners up with La Galerie Nationale for Marc Ferrero’s first show in the Middle East, “French Kiss” a series of paintings paying homage to the 21^stcentury woman. 

As international artist, Marc Ferrero made hundreds exhibition worldwide but he is also famous for his strong collaboration with luxury watchmaker Hublot.

Un visage de femme portant de grandes lunettes noires: tel est le thème principal de la série LIPSTICK. Marc Ferrero est à la tête d'un nouveau mouvement pictural, le Storytelling Art,qui se définit par l'utilisation d'histoires et de personnages fictifs, jouant audacieusement avec le point de vue et la fusion de différents styles graphiques. Ces portraits expriment les différents rôles qui sont offerts aux femmes dans la vie moderne. S'attaquant aux formes rondes classiques traditionnellement utilisées par les artistes pour représenter des figures féminines, Marc Ferrero montre leur force à travers des angles, des lignes et des formes graphiques forts, mais il adoucit cette impression de puissance avec le rouge à lèvres comme symbole de la féminité à l'intérieur de volutes et d’ombres.

Cubisme et Figuratif fusionnent pour donner un effet puissant aux œuvres, créant ainsi un fort impact visuel.

Ferrero is at the head of a new pictorial movement, Storytelling Art, which is defined by the use of fictional stories and characters, playing audaciously with the point of view, and the fusion of different graphic styles. These portraits express the different roles that are offered to women in modern life. Tackling the classical round shapes that are traditionally used by artists to represent women figures, Marc Ferrero is showing her inner strength through strong graphical angles, lines and forms but he softens this impression of power with the lipstick as the symbol of femininity inside volutes and shadows. The fusion of Cubism and Figurativism gives a powerful effect to the artworks, creating a strong visual impact.
