LE NOUVEL AMBASSADEUR DE FRANCE AUX EAU ACCUEILLI PAR  L'AUTORITÉ DU TOURISME ET DE LA CULTURE D'ABU DHABI

FRENCH AMBASSADOR TO UAE WELCOMED BY SENIOR MANAGEMENT OF ABU DHABI TOURISM & CULTURE AUTHORITY

Le nouvel Ambassadeur de France aux Émirats Arabes Unis, S.E. Ludovic Pouille, a rencontré lundi 3 juillet le président et le directeur général d'Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) au quartier général de TCA Abu Dhabi pour des discussions informelles sur l'extension des relations bilatérales entre les EAU et la France.

 The French Ambassador to the UAE, HE Ludovic Pouille, met Monday with the Chairman, and Director General of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) at TCA’s Abu Dhabi headquarters for informal discussions on extending bilateral ties between the UAE and France.

La France est actuellement le 4ème marché européen des émirats qui ont accueilli en 2016 quelque 65 000 visiteurs, soit une augmentation de 9% par rapport à l'année précédente, générant 226 000 nuités. On s'attend à ce que ces chiffres explosent avec l'ouverture de Louvre Abu Dhabi cette année, l'un des plus hauts niveaux de coopération culturelle entre deux pays souverains.

France is currently the emirate’s 4^th largest European source market, welcoming in 2016 some 65,000 hotel guests, an increase of 9% on the previous year, generating 226,000 guest nights. These figures are expected to markedly improve with the opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi later this year, one of the highest levels of cultural cooperation ever between two sovereign countries. 

Les relations entre la France et les Émirats Arabes Unis ont été renforcées en décembre de l'année dernière, lorsque Abu Dhabi a accueilli la Conférence sur la protection du patrimoine culturel en péril à laquelle ont assisté des présidents, des chefs d'État et des dignitaires de plus de 40 pays.

La conférence mondiale a été un partenariat entre les deux pays et s’est conclue avec la ratification et l'adoption de la Déclaration d'Abu Dhabi pour créer un fonds international pour la protection du patrimoine culturel en voie de disparition et un réseau international de refuges pour la protection des biens culturels à risque.

Relations between France and the UAE were further strengthened in December last year when Abu Dhabi hosted the Safeguarding Endangered Cultural Heritage Conference attended by presidents, Heads of State and senior dignitaries from more than 40 countries.

The global conference was a partnership between the two countries and concluded with the ratification and adoption of the Abu Dhabi Declaration to establish an international fund for the protection of endangered cultural heritage and the establishment of an international network of safe havens for the protection of cultural property at risk. 

D'autres initiatives culturelles développées et réalisées en partenariat avec des entités françaises cette année comprennent l'accueil de l'Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse pour le programme musical d’Abu Dhabi Classics et une série d'activités à travers l'émirat dans le cadre du Programme culturel franco-émirien.

Other cultural initiatives developed and delivered in partnership with French entities this year include the hosting of Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse for the Abu Dhabi Classics music programme, and a series of activities across the emirate as part of the Emirati-French Cultural Programme.
