Breaking ground on UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Le NMC (National Media Council) a approuvé le projet soumis par l'architecte Santiago Calatrava après un concours de sept mois, où neuf cabinets d'architecture internationaux ont présenté 11 concepts différents. Les candidatures ont été évaluées sur la base de critères stricts, dont l’incarnation du thème principal de l'Expo (“Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”- Connecter les esprits, créer l'avenir), ainsi que la représentation du patrimoine des Émirats Arabes Unis.

The NMC approved the design submitted by architect Santiago Calatrava after a seven-month design competition, where nine international architecture firms submitted 11 different concepts. Entries were evaluated based on strict criteria, including the extent to which they successfully embodied the main theme of the Expo (“Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”), as well as their representation of UAE heritage, balancing the country’s past and future.

Le pavillon des EAU est conçu en forme de faucon en vol, symbolisant le leadership et la fierté du pays. Les composantes du design reflètent les valeurs d'ouverture, de communication et de tolérance, en accord avec le thème principal de l'exposition, qui appelle à la coopération avec la communauté internationale pour améliorer la qualité de vie à travers le développement durable.

 The UAE Pavilion is designed in the shape of a flying falcon, symbolising the country’s leadership and pride. The design’s components reflect the values of openness, communication and tolerance, aligning with the main theme of the exhibition, which calls for cooperation with the international community to improve quality of life through sustainable development.

Son Excellence Reem Al Hashimy, a déclaré: «Le pavillon national des Emirats Arabes Unis à Expo 2020 racontera l'histoire de notre pays à des millions de visiteurs du monde entier et sera une vitrine pour la communication et la collaboration avec le monde, incarnant véritablement notre thème de "Connecter les esprits, créer le futur".

Le pavillon couvre une superficie de plus de 15 000 mètres carrés; La structure devrait être achevée d'ici la fin de 2019.

Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, said" The UAE National Pavilion at Expo 2020 will tell the story of our country to millions of visitors from all over the globe. It will be a window for communication and collaboration with the world, truly embodying our theme of 'Connecting minds, Creating the future'”.

The Pavilion covers an area of more than 15,000 square meters; The entire structure is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
