exposée récemment à la Galerie Broadway de New-York, est présentée au Armani hôtel de Burj Khalifa à Dubaï. Une exposition magnifique! Ses toiles semblent avoir été dégrossies puis lissées comme à l’aide d’un couteau mais sans que la densité du matériau ne diminue l’effet de luminosité. Le travail de Jean-Marc Schwaller trouve son inspiration dans celui de Mark Rothko et Barnett Newman. Tout comme pour ses maîtres, ses motifs explorent le potentiel de la composition de couleur et de forme sur le psychisme de l’Homme. C’est sublime et émotionnellement contemplatif. Mais par dessus tout, ces peintures sont les plus émouvantes que l’on puisse voir. Jean-Marc Schwaller dit de son travail récent: « je démarre avec une idée concrète, par exemple «des jardins d’eau», où je trouve des idées de reflets, de végétation. Ensuite je peins l’essence de l’image d’un grand geste sur le corps du tableau, le tout étant connecté comme une toile d’araignée combinant la couleur, la lumière et l’énergie. Je travaille sur le sol et je peins avec tout mon corps. Je ne veux pas que le spectateur ait la sensation “d’effort” ou de “difficulté” provenant de la technique de peinture. La couleur et le mouvement sont des éléments de la structure de l’œuvre.

L’exposition «Le rythme de la terre – Passage» se tient du 6 au 12 juin 2012 à l’hôtel Armani de Burj Khalifa à Dubaï. Chaque jour de 10 h à 22 h. Et du 20 juin au 20 novembre 2012 à l’Emirates Palace - Abu Dhabi

recently displayed in the Broadway Gallery New York, are being shown at Armani Hotel Dubai, Burj Khalifa: a magnificent exhibition. His paintings appear to be hewn and then smoothed as if with a knife but without the density of the material ever diminishing the translucency of his light. Jean-Marc Schwaller’s work finds its predecessors in the work of Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman. Much like these modern masters, his motifs explore the compositional potential of color and form on the human psyche. It is sublime and emotionally contemplative. But most of all, they are some of the most moving paintings one can see. Jean-Marc Schwaller said about his recent work: “I start off with a concrete idea, for example “water gardens”, where I find the idea of reflection, of vegetation. I then paint the essence of the image in a grand gesture on the body of the canvas, all of which is connected like a web, combining color, light and energy. I work on the ground and paint with my whole body. I don’t want the viewer to feel the “effort” or “difficulty” of the painting technique. The color and movement are inseparable elements in the structure of the piece.
